Stage 02

How Portward connects to your sources

Portward connects to a source with a read-only credential. PostgreSQL works today, and more sources are being tested.

Connected once

An admin connects a source. Its credential is encrypted before it is stored, and it is never sent to an AI tool.

What is copied

To answer a question, Portward copies the tables that question uses into its own storage, up to a row limit, and runs the calculation there. Tables no question has used are not copied.

Read-only

Portward reads from a source and never writes to it, even when the credential would allow it.
